چکیده
An experimental study of the rotational magnetocaloric effect in Ni(en)(H2O)4SO4∙2H2O (en = ethylenediamine) single crystal is presented. The was carried out at temperatures above 2 K and associated with adiabatic rotation between easy plane hard axis magnetic fields up to 7 T. properties studied system were investigated by isothermal magnetization measurement. observations completed ab initio calculations anisotropy parameters. A large entropy change ≈12 Jkg−1K−1 ≈16.9 achieved 5 T T, respectively. present suggests a possible application this material low-temperature refrigeration since led cooldown sample from initial temperature 4.2 down 0.34 K. Finally, theoretical show that S 1 Ni(II)-based systems easy-plane can have better than costly materials containing rare-earth elements their chemical structures.

The polycrystalline manganite La0.75Sr0.25MnO3 prepared by an alternative carbonate precipitation route reveals the rhombohedral perovskite structure. Magnetization isotherms measured up to 2 T are used to determine Curie temperature of 332 K by means of Arrott plot. Maximum of magnetic entropy change is found at Curie temperature. The relative cooling power equal to 64 J/kg for 1.5 T magnetic ...
متن کاملGiant rotating magnetocaloric effect induced by highly texturing in polycrystalline DyNiSi compound
Large rotating magnetocaloric effect (MCE) has been observed in some single crystals due to strong magnetocrystalline anisotropy. By utilizing the rotating MCE, a new type of rotary magnetic refrigerator can be constructed, which could be more simplified and efficient than the conventional one. However, compared with polycrystalline materials, the high cost and complexity of preparation for sin...
متن کاملTaming the first-order transition in giant magnetocaloric materials.
Large magnetically driven temperature changes are observed in MnFe(P,Si,B) materials simultaneously with large entropy changes, limited (thermal or magnetic) hysteresis, and good mechanical stability. The partial substitution of B for P in MnFe(P,Si) compounds is found to be an ideal parameter to control the latent heat observed at the Curie point without deteriorating the magnetic properties, ...

A systematic set of annealings on arc-melted synthesized Gd5Si2Ge2 sample was performed. Through powder x-ray di raction (XRD) and magnetometry measurements we monitored the effect of varying the annealing time with constant temperature (T = 1473K) on the formation of the Monoclinic (M ) crystallographic phase fraction, which is the one responsible for the Giant Magnetocaloric E ect (GMCE) in t...
متن کاملMagnetocaloric effect in one-dimensional antiferromagnets
An external magnetic field induces large relative changes in the entropy of one-dimensional quantum spin systems at finite temperatures. This leads to a magnetocaloric effect, i.e. a change in temperature during an adiabatic (de)magnetization process. Several examples of one-dimensional spin-1/2 models are studied by employing the Jordan-Wigner transformation and exact diagonalization. During a...
